Celebrate the holiday season at the Increase Matthews house in Putnam with three great weekends of entertainment and education!

December 4 and 5: Meet Jonathan Zane, one of the founders of Zanesville, portrayed by Chuck Bell, at the home of Increase Matthews, one of the founders of Putnam.

December 11: William Chilcote, a fictional Civil War soldier, portrayed by Chris Hart, in 1893 as he looks back and tells of the Christmases he missed during the four years he served in the Union Army.

December 12: meet Frank Capra, portrayed by Chris Hart, in 1986, as he looks back and reminisces about his famous movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, released in 1946.

December 18: Listen to Christmas music played Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra director, Laura Schumann.

December 19: Enjoy Civil War music, Stephen Foster songs, along with Christmas songs, played by Steven and Lisa Ball.

Light refreshments will be provided. You may tour the Increase Matthews house at your leisure. While the Open House is no cost to those who attend, donations are always accepted and appreciated to help support programming like this.
